I believe that painting has a great power, that of letting us know things more deeply; the painter is the one who remains sensitive to the possibility – to the miracle – that things reveal themselves, in order to finally be able to see them. What interests me in my work is this continuous discovery, especially of the spaces and cities we live in, and when I meet a place that strikes me, that becomes my theme: I live it, I walk through it, I sketch, take notes, take photos. It is a gaze full of attention, in a process that crosses the structure of the spaces, up to overcoming it, to return a lyrical image.
